MUSEUM MAYHEM!

As is the case most years, things start speeding up around spring break, and don’t let up til sometime in mid-May. That phenomenon, which will henceforth be called the April Blitz (Spring Fever and March Madness were already taken!), is in full swing right now. We have had some fabulous school groups visiting this month, we’ve been doing Doodlebugs classes at a local elementary school, and we’re still doing Pajama Storytimes every other week. And through all the craziness, one fact becomes even more apparent than usual: We would never be able to do this without the help of our dedicated and amazing volunteers!

When you see photos of our events on the CRMA website or Facebook page, you probably won’t see many volunteers’ faces.

They’re the ones in the background, making sure that everyone is having a great time or that they have everything they need.

They won’t tell you about the hours of training they put in, in order to lead interesting and informative tours.

You won’t see all the red circles on their calendars marking the many dates that they’ve committed their personal time to helping us. They don’t shine a light on their contributions; they use their expertise to redirect the spotlight onto the CRMA.

So the next time you attend an exhibition opening, or you see school buses parked outside the museum, or you bring the kids to a Family Fun Day, take a moment to appreciate the unsung heroes of our organization.

Cheers to our devoted volunteers!
