Stan Wiederspan: Box Chapel

Cedar Rapids artist and former Cedar Rapids Art Association director Stan Wiederspan has embarked upon a radically new series of paintings: hyper realistic acrylic paintings representing ordinary cardboard boxes. While seemingly mundane, the box nonetheless evokes of many specific associations for the viewer. Dramatically lit, these ordinary objects take on a spiritual feeling and the arrangement of them in the CRMA's long,slender gallery on the second floor will create an almost chapel-like experience. The CRMA presentation is the national premiere of this series.

We need help with repairs still and need a funding stream for this or bankruptcy rates could skyrocket.Also Megabus offers expensive transportation to Chicago and Des Moines. How about getting a commuter service established with them between Cedar Rapids and Iowa City to increase job opportunities for persons with disabilities and people who don't drive to increase job opportunities that can generate money to the economy as well?
