The Museum is closed Monday and major holidays (New Year's Day, Easter, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day).

The Museum offers free general admission to all visitors from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings. Free Thursday evenings are generously sponsored by the Alliant Energy Foundation.
Students attending Kirkwood Community College, Mt. Mercy, Coe College, and Cornell College get FREE admission with student ID.
