Page-Turner Art

Saturday, September 9, 1-3pm

Kids ages 6 & up are invited to join us in making some book-based art projects inspired by the CRMA’s exhibition, Page-Turner: Books and Reading in Art. Create an accordion book, a diorama book, or a waterfall book. You’ll start off with an old book that you can cut apart and add things to, creating something completely new and totally customized with your own artwork. You can use your book to tell the story of your summer vacation, your family tree, a fairy tale you love, or anything else your imagination can come up with. We recommend that adult chaperones plan to stay with the younger children.  Space is limited, so preregistration is required; contact Education Director Erin Thomas at 319-366-7503 or to register. This program is presented free of charge, thanks to the generous support of the Hiawatha Public Library, the Marion Public Library, and the Cedar Rapids Public Library. What a fun way to “bookend” the Summer Reading Program!
