The American Century
The American Century
September 12, 2009
Grant Wood,
Adoration of the Home
, 1921-1922, oil on canvas attached to wood panel, gift of Mr. and Mrs. Peter F. Bezanson, 80.1.
In this new installation of the permanent collection, the many movements of twentieth-century American art will be highlighted. While the CRMA’s collection is considered one of the foremost in Midwestern art, it also possesses numerous examples of art from other regions of the United States and can demonstrate many of the movements and interests of art in America in the twentieth century, the century in which
American art came to dominate the art world.
General exhibition and educational support has been provided by the Momentum Fund of The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation.
* This is an ongoing, permanent collection exhibition.
