Inspired by Nature: American Landscape Painting 1900-1945
November 23, 2005 - November 5, 2006
Presenting one of the oldest traditions in the history of art---landscape painting---this exhibition explores how American artists responded to the influence of French Impressionism. Including artists from both coasts, the Midwest, and from the CRMA's extensive collection of American landscape paintings from the first half of the twentieth century, including works by Marvin Cone and Grant Wood.
This exhibition was made possible by the generous support of members and friends of the Museum.
