Into the Blue: Iowa Artists Juried

June 8 - September 15, 2019

A color-specific celebration of Iowa artists! Juried by CRMA Associate Curator Kate Kunau, Into the Blue draws work from artists all over the state of Iowa.  The work on display must have been created within the last three years and blue must be the dominant color. Into the Blue celebrates the hue in both two and three-dimensional works across all media and examines how blue has been incredibly important to artists for centuries:  From the luxurious (and expensive!) ultramarine used to color the Virgin Mary’s cloak and star-studded vaults of heaven in medieval and Renaissance art to the exuberance of Yves Klein’s trademarked shade and , blue has long inspired artists and this exhibition

When will artists be notified whether or not their work will be accepted for this exhibit? I've discarded the "call for entries details" pdf. Thank you.

Was there a response to Alissa’s Question?

Hello, I am very interested in the show. My only question is it work that is made in the last three years, or the last five years? It says one on this, and another on the actual PDF.

Click on the "Call for Entries Details", and a pdf. will open in a new tab.

Kate: As you know I'm somewhat technologically challenged. Please tell me how I can access the prospective and calendar (for submission, delivery etc.) I have an assistant who has taken a digital picture of the piece I want to have exhibited, so I've got that done, but,as to the rest, I'm clueless. I believe my assistant can help me, but I need to have the rules of the road.
