Messy Mini-Camp Workshops at the CRMA

Messy Mini-Camp Workshops at the CRMA

Jul 14, 2022, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Sometimes making art isn’t pretty, and this summer that’s the point! With themes like stinky, messy, noisy, and “üglî,” these activities are not for the faint of heart. Getting messy, making “ugly” artwork, using smelly or noisy materials while creating can be freeing—it allows your child’s inner critic to take a backseat to finding the magic in the process. Your young artist will explore unusual methods of art-making, peruse the galleries and ponder the reasons artists make the choices they do, investigate some new mediums, and laugh themselves silly. Space for these mini-camp workshops is limited, so reserve your child’s spot early. Suitable for children ages 8-12yrs. Masks are currently required.* Admission is $40 per session, and there are four themes to choose from. Put the “ick” in artistic—sign up today! To register or for more information, contact the CRMA Education Director Erin Thomas at ethomas@crma.org or 319-366.7503.

The CRMA’s current Covid safety procedures limit groups to 10 campers per session, and require everyone to wear a mask at all times inside the building. These procedures may change before summer camp sessions occur; families of participating campers will be updated on our procedures 1-2 weeks prior to each session.
