Zoom Doodlebugs: Frida’s {Many} Faces

Zoom Doodlebugs: Frida’s {Many} Faces

Jun 29, 2022, 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Your preschooler has been granted V.I.P. access! Each Doodlebugs art class this summer features a VERY INVENTIVE PERSON: someone whose creative ingenuity changed the world. Every class session, held via Zoom, starts with a story and ends with imagination and creation! All ages are welcome, but book selection is ideal for ages 4-7.
In this session we’ll learn about Frida Kahlo, a Mexican artist who painted lots of self-portraits which included many colors, animals or flowers, and sometimes fantastical things. We’ll do a bit of drawing and a bit of collage, which will result in a fabulous mixed-media portrait.
Materials: Paper and pencils (plain or colored); glue stick or glue; collage materials like stickers of animals or flowers, magazine pages to cut, small artificial flowers (flat ones that will stick to paper work best) or leaves, stick-on gems, feathers, or other small items
