Visions of America: The Nation at 250

June 6, 2026 –September 13, 2026

2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  In the many years from then until now, artists have constructed and represented their own visions of America in their work.  From nostalgic to critical, the works drawn from the permanent collection and presented in this exhibition form a multi-faceted portrait of a vast and complex country.

This exhibition and accompanying educational programming have been made possible in part by The McIntyre Foundation, a Program Support Grant from the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, members of the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, and contributors to the Museum’s Annual Fund.  Annual educational programming support has been provided in part by Transamerica.
